Walker? Most Couldn't Even Stand!
( But This One DOES BOTH ! )
All original, this Empire Strikes Back (69800) Scout Walker
was released by Kenner in 1982. Frankly, it was seldom used
and never displayed, (so no sun-fading) and therefore is in very
collectible condition. All the parts that often got lost or pitched
(top, turret hatch, turret gun, & side cannons) are there, and the
side cannons still click-adjust. However, the barrels of the nose
cannon are faintly warped and barely hold position. The decals
are still all mounted and show only faint wear. Overall this toy
is not discolored, but the (Kenner) glue has yellowed thru the
years along the seam and tips of the upper compartment that
holds an action figure (sold separately as always). It stands
over 10"high, and the "walking action" works perfectly!
It was always stored away in it's retail box after being played
with. The Canadian box has both an all-English face and side,
plus a mostly-French face & side . There is a 3" diagonal tear
in the upper corner of the French side-panel, the other 3 sides
have just moderate creases & Christmas wrapping tape peels.
Please note: There is only one that is complete and with
a box. The lower graded, lower priced unit[s] have no turret
hatch or gun, and in grade 'A' not even a top hood at all.
Also: all such breakable items require protective cushioning
and a heavy duty outer box, which adds to the freight cost.
