Eric Stanton developed a following in Europe, and his work
inspired young American artists like Dave Stevens and Jim
Steranko. Part of the "Big Three" of post-war fetish art (with
Bill Ward and Gene "ENEG" Bilbrew), Stanton did several
comic books ("Blunder Broad"), paintings for sleaze paper-
back book covers and even shot his own short movies. His wife Britt often served as model, actress and inspiration.
In the 1990s, several books were released by European
publishers, including: Stanton, Master of the Bizarre
(2 volumes) by Glittering Images in Italy. TASCHEN (in
Germany) also released a massive book, which nicely
compiles much of his work.
In person, Stanton was a helluva nice guy and a gentleman.
His sons now continue on with the Stanton Archives, so they
have set up a website (www.stanton-fetish.com) dedicated
to their father and his erotic work. There is also his longtime catalog mailing address: Stanton Archives, POB 223,
Clinton, CT, USA 06413 (Fax: 860-664-3836)
